L’Escarpe

Val de Loire Sauvignon Blanc

Wine Type: White Wine

Country: France

Region: Loire

Grapes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Vinification: Throughout the centuries and eras, passion for wine has always stayed alive. Despite all the ups and downs of history, it remains, more than ever, connected to its territory. Vines grow on clay and limestone soils with gravel. No skin contact. The grapes are gently pressed with a pneumatic press. The must is filtered and fermentation takes place.

Tasting Notes: Bright, pale lemon color. The nose is complex with notes of fresh asparagus and herbaceous aromas combined with hints of tropical fruits aromas. Medium-bodied, this zesty wine reveals flavors of grapefruits with elegant undertones of tropical fruits.

Food Pairings: This wine is best served chilled and paired with seafood, salads, and pasta dishes or as an aperitif.

Wine Enthusiast: “This is a classic Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Fragrant and savory aromas of bosc pear, green apple, tomato leaf and dried field grass open on the nose tickled by lilac on the underbelly. Rich fruit rests on a bed of hay and white blossom leading to a lemon-zested finish. Delightfully low in alcohol at 11.5%, you can relax restraint and enjoy another glass.”

International Wine Report: Bright and lively, this begins with vivid aromas of lychee, lime zest, wet stones and white floral notes all bursting from the glass. On the palate this is nicely balanced with a lovely combination of bright acidity leading up to the finish.”
