CANTINE BOSCO NESTORE
Based in Nocciano, in the province of Pescara. Thanks to the founder Giovanni Bosco, our family has been making wines for more than a century.
NOCCIANO, ITALY
Bosco Nestore, Founded in 1897
Located in Nocciano, in the province of Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo. Their vineyards lie south of Gran Sasso, North of Maiella, and west of the Adriatic Sea. This panoramic position provides a unique growing microclimate as a result of surrounding mountains and wind from the sea. “Our wines cherish all the perfumes and features that this wonderful land gives us.” – Nestore Bosco Jr.
In 1897, Giovanni Bosco founded the winery. In 1968, Nestore Bosco became the very first Italian winery to bottle under the “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC” classification. In that same year, their product became the first wine from Abruzzo to ever be exported to the United States.
In 1983, Cantine Bosco Nestore moved from its original location in the hills of Pescara, to Nocciano, which was recently named a UNESCO Global Geopark. This allowed them to expand their space, with the addition of a vast cellar used for aging their wines.
Today, the winery is run by Stefani Bosco & Nestore Bosco Jr, who are the fourth generation of the family to manage the business.
Nestore Bosco is also certified organic since 2018, which is based on the following four elements:
– Sustainability of production
– Safety in ensuring the chain of production
– Health of consumers
– Limiting waste & environmental impact
“For sure Montepulciano is the jewel in the crown of our production, the signature grape variety of this region. Along with the reds, our range features the Cersuolo d’Abruzzo and some remarkable, multiple award winning whites: Chardonnay, Pecorino and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Our wines are eclectic and fit for every occasion, as they truly express the spirit of where we live.” – Nestore Bosco Jr.
