Pierre de la Fabregue
Château Rombeau Côtes de Roussillon Villages
Wine Type: Red Wine
Country: France
Region: Languedoc
Grapes: 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre
Tasting Notes: Midnight black at the core, the aromas of this wine are currently tight, but with persistence and aeration, one finds cassis, licorice twist and candied walnut. Delightfully full bodied, with rounded, mouth-coating tannins relieved by bustling acidity, this is a drinker with or without food. There’s a sublime balance of extravagance and nuance, and the palate reflects the characteristics of the nose in the most satisfying way.
Wine Advocate: “A blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre, the 2017 Pierre de la Fabrègue shows a better sense of balance than the estate’s Elise bottling, with the 30% new oak gracefully framing black cherries, raspberries and dried spices. It’s medium to full-bodied, with supple, silky tannins and a long, elegant finish.”
