Chateau Rombeau

Le Botaniste Cotes du Roussillon Villages AOP Reserve

Wine Type: Red Wine

Country: France

Region: Roussillon

Grapes: 70% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre

Tasting Notes: The wine shows a beautiful garnet robe. The nose is intense and has clear aromas of dark red fruits. On the palate, the fruit is juicy and the tannins are smooth. There is also little hint of spices and minerality. A good balance between tannins and acidity. Good length and it is pleasant to drink.

Winemaking & Aging: Traditional in stainless and concrete vats, whose volumes are proportional to the plots. Aged inn oak barrels for 12 months.

Wine Enthusiast: “Warming baking spice wafts from the glass followed by rhubarb, cassis and dried black cherry. The palate is muscular with supportive red-fruit delicately in the background. This wine is the one you serve when you’re grilling for vegetarians and carnivores who want something different, but each wants to be satisfied with the evening’s pairings.”

Decanter: “Invigorating cassis, liquorice and black olives smoulder and sizzle over the glossy opulent texture and well-knitted tannins with an emerging toasty oak presence on the enduring finish.”
