Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red with violet-coral hues. The nose is complex and matches with intensity and persistence. A bouquet of spices strikes, in particular vanilla, coconut, coffee and cocoa, as well as balsamic notes reminiscent of eucalyptus and aromatic herbs. The lively fruity notes are defined by wild berries. The elegant and harmonious mouth unravels from soft overture, through an articulate progression, and with a long finale and a silky tannic weave. It is spicy, balsamic and fruity, and in balance with the aromatic bouquet’s composition.

Winemaking: Spontaneous fermentation in cement tubs at a controlled temperature. Aged 8 months in concrete vessels for 50% of the grapes, and in 225 L barriques for the remaining 50%, followed by at least 6 months in bottle.

Vinous: “The 2020 Pittoresco is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Dark and brooding, the 2020 is a heady wine. Blackberry jam, bittersweet chocolate, leather and licorice add to an impression of somber intensity.”

James Suckling: “Walnuts, chocolate cherries, violets, peppercorns and bell peppers on the nose. Full-bodied, flavorful and dark-fruited, with firm tannins and a chewy, tasty finish. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. Drink or hold.”
