Westmount
Willamette Valley Chardonnay
Wine Type: White Wine
Country: United States
Region: Oregon (United States)
Grapes: 100% Chardonnay
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: “Aromas of orange zest, honeycomb, melon, honeysuckle, and oak spice on the nose. Spun sugar, butterscotch, and coriander on the palate. Lively and fresh, showing beautifully now.”
Wine Enthusiast: “Really nice apple and butter aromas are accented by wisps of earthy, sun-warmed San Marzano tomatoes. The wine’s gentle acidity is just enough to keep up with flavors of lime zest, almonds and quinine water on the rocks. This is a light-bodied wine that makes an excellent aperitif to jump-start an appetite.”
Decanter: “The Westmount Chardonnay brings a real degree of seriousness to the wine at a very reasonable price. Aromas of toasted almonds, Meyer lemon leaves, and bruised apples hint at the wine’s depths. The fruit is generous and lush, with rich pear and apple flavors, hints of nutmeg, and beeswax flavours that mark the palate, ending with a touch of cardamom spice.”
James Suckling: “Fruity, round and refreshing, with notes of guavas, bergamot and warm spices. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity. Linear and consistent, with a well-rounded finish. Drink now. Screw cap.”
