Broccardo

I Tre Pais Barolo DOCG

Wine Type: Red Wine

Country: Italy

Region: Piedmont

Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo

Tasting Notes: The wine is a beautiful red colour with orange highlights increasingly pronounced as it extends the period of aging. Spicy oak aromas of vanilla and liquorice. The palate is immediately fresh and rich, then soft and balanced. A pleasant Barolo with hints of citrus and refined tannins. Longevity over 20 years.

Winemaking: Pressing – Controlled fermentation of 28°C. Average duration of maceration: about 20 days – Malolactic fermentation in November in steel. Maturation of about 24 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels of variable size up to 60 hl, aged from new to 10 years.

Food Pairings: Recommended with stuffed pigeon, well matured cheeses and tasty red meats.

Decanter: “A wonderful fruit-driven nose of plum, cherry and raspberry with a smattering of dried garrigue herbs which wrap around the voluptuous meaty palate. Long and vibrant.”

James Suckling: “Overt, fruity character to this, with ripe red cherries and blood oranges. Slightly floral and not too spicy. Firm tannins on the palate with crisp acidity, medium body and a tight, slightly austere finish. Try after 2026.”

Wine Enthusiast: “A Barolo that brings together three villages like a perfectly planned dinner party, each guest bringing their best dish to the table. This blend from Barolo, Novello, and Monforte d’Alba floats from the glass with the delicacy of vintage lace: dried cherries sharing gossip with cola and incense while herbs dry by the window. The palate arrives fashionably on time with pomegranate and red currants making their entrance, those fine tannins and bright acidity working the room like seasoned hosts. As the evening progresses, earth and savory notes take center stage like good conversation hitting its stride.”
