Wine Advocate: “This 13,000-bottle release is a great discovery for me, and in fact, I had never heard of this estate before now. Tenuta Bellafonte’s 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Collenottolo brings big intensity and broad shoulders with large swathes of blackberry and tarry fruit. This is a very big wine that needs a pairing with rare steak for sure. Darkly concentrated and packed tight with lots of fruity intensity, Collenottolo offers spice, dried earth and toast, all with good balance. The tannins are well-integrated.”

James Suckling: “Aromas of blackcurrants and black cherries with notes of wild asparagus and cedar. Full-bodied with fine, lightly chewy tannins and a tight, spicy finish. The center palate is rather static. Drink now.”
