Vega Cubillas

DO Ribera del Duero Reserva

Wine Type: Red Wine

Country: Spain

Region: Ribera del Duero

Grapes: 100% Tinta del Pais

Tasting Notes: Ripe cherry color with rims between scarlet and brick. High layer. Clean and bright. Complex and elegant aromas appear on the basis of ripe fruit. Noble wood, spicy and toasted. In the background, balsamic aromas of licorice. Full-bodied on the palate, balanced, broad and persistent. Non-aggressive ripe tannins, powerful flavors, velvety and tasty in the aftertaste. Elegant fruity and spicy finish.

Winemaking: Wine from our vineyards in Gumiel de Mercado (Burgos). The harvest was done manually. The bunches are destemmed and crushed as they are received in the hopper of the winery. It carries out the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 12 days at 26-28ºC with daily pumping over. The process continues with the malolactic fermentation that is carried out in stainless steel as well. For 20 months you remain in American Oak barrels. After 18 more months in the bottle to complete its evolution.

Wine Enthusiast: ”Red and black fruit meet a subtle, brothy undercurrent accented by alluring wild and funky tones. The palate is beautifully composed, revealing a transparent clarity that is genuinely beguiling. Delicious today, with a very bright future ahead.”
