Westmount
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Wine Type: Red Wine
Country: United States
Region: Oregon (United States)
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Aromas of black cherry, currant, tobacco, sweet spices, rose petal, and a hint of orange zest. Red plum and juicy blackberries are layered with notes of mineral spice and oak on the palate. Notes of fresh strawberries and subtle vanilla bean. A classic and complex Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Aging: Aged 10 months in French Oak barrels, 20% new.
Wine Enthusiast: “The Westmount’s briary dark raspberry, tarragon, lemon and pipe tobacco aromas form a perfume worth of dabbing on pulse points. Black cherry and black tea flavors feel weighty on the palate, with sturdy tannins and just enough acidity offering support. This is a lot of wine for $25.”
Decanter: ”A blend across Willamette Valley sites, harvested late in October of 2022. Dark fruit aromatics of black plums, ripe bing cherry flesh, and gravelly minerality are well integrated and meld with a palate of undeniably ripe bramble berries, flinty minerality and intensely savoury green tea leaves and dried herbs, giving this wine a definite complexity.”
