Tenuta Bellafonte
Pomontino Montefalco Rosso DOC
Wine Type: Red Wine
Country: Italy
Region: Umbria
Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Sagrantino
Tasting Notes: On the nose it expresses notes that recall pomegranate, red currant, black cherry and bitter orange, not without a touch of blackberry. On the palate it is agile, tasty, characterized by a good acidity and at the same time supported by a light and pleasant tannic texture. Closes on silky notes, of good persistence
James Suckling: “A pleasant, fresh young red with clean red-berry and cherry character and a light herbal note. Medium body, tight tannins and a firm, more savory finish. Slightly dry at the end. Drink now.”
International Wine Report: “The 2019 ‘Pomontino’ is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Sagrantino that offers inviting aromas and flavors of raspberries and cherries which come together with spices, cigar box and hints of licorice. The medium body gets support from the fine-grained tannins. It displays notable balance through the finish.”
